Network Security Engineer

The Role
Our Network Security Engineers sit within our Infrastructure Engineering Function and work on key, highly secure multitenancy environments for the business. You will design, evaluate and build these environments, while providing tier 3 support, focusing on hybrid cloud implementations, data centre deployments and perimeter networks.
You will have a strong routing and switching background, excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform packet analysis to troubleshoot lower level problems logged with the team. You will also perform Threat Modelling for security designs, and create clear and effective documentation.
G-Research fosters a DevOps culture with a particular focus on automation. An understanding of the importance of building supportable solutions that reduce operational cost is therefore essential for this role.
We want engineers that can absorb new technologies and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to build relationships; this is essential to explaining complex design structures to a range of users with varying technical knowledge from across the business.
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
An understanding of threat prevention and protection profiles, including Advanced Firewall Experience (L4-L7 Controls)
(Dynamic Objects / External Dynamic Lists / Regional Firewall Policies / SSL-Inspection / Threat Profiling / User-ID / App-ID / Panorama Template Experience)
(Virtualised Multi-Context Environment)
Proxy Deployment Experience
Experience with traditional on-premises reverse Proxy and SaaS Proxy
(BGP Communities, Prefix-Lists, Route-Maps) EVPN, VRF's
Experience with NAC and policy management platforms, such as ISE and ClearPass
Experience with Log Shipping / Log Retention technologies and monitoring platforms
Experience with automation tools, such as Git, Python, Ansible, Terraform and Jinja2
Knowledge of Overlay technologies, such as VXLAN, and Security Frameworks, including CIS, Mitre Att&ck, NCSC and NIST
Certifications levels such as CCNP Enterprise, PCNSE, NSE4 & NSE5 would be advantageous
