Core Platform Architect
Location : Dallas, TX
This is a hybrid role, based in G-Research’s office in Dallas.

The role
Core Platform Architects sit within our Platform Engineering Function and work alongside Functional Leads for Infrastructure, Platforms, and User Experience to manage and develop our product roadmap.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Shaping the roadmap for the products and services within Core Platform, aligned with business objectives
- Maintaining a hands-on approach to the design, development and support of existing and new products
- Collaborating with peer Architects and Engineering teams across the organisation to collectively deliver the product roadmap and strategy
- Providing technical leadership, guiding architecture decisions, and acting as a point of escalation for Engineering teams
- Championing and adopting G-Research architectural shifts to support the CTO and Architecture Practice Lead
- Proactively managing governance and quality to achieve a pragmatic balance of business and security objectives in product architecture
Who are we looking for?
You will have a demonstrable background in large scale design and/or enterprise architecture, within a comparable organisation operating at scale. You will bring broad experience across the range of infrastructure disciplines, covering compute, storage, networking and identity.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- The ability to architect and deliver platform services to support modern cloud-native application approaches
- Infrastructure and platforms experience with some of the following: networks, storage, compute, identity management, databases, messaging
- Appreciation of the challenges and perspectives of software engineering teams and how to translate their needs into effective platform services
- An excellent understanding of security architecture, with exposure to high-assurance operating environments
- Skilled in gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating customer and stakeholder needs, linking them to plans and roadmaps
- Solid technical background in system design, engineering, or software development, capable of navigating detailed technical discussions to high-level conceptual talks
- An analytical thinker who can quickly understand problems by systematically breaking them down into components
- Familiarity with organizational complexity, its underlying causes, and methods for addressing it
