Key information
The 2026 Summer Research Programme runs for 10 weeks – 22nd June to 28th August 2026.
The entirety of the programme takes place at 1 Soho Place, G-Research’s London office.
During your 10-week internship, you will be given a meaningful and challenging research project that demands the application of innovative yet pragmatic mathematical and computational analysis.
Past projects
- Predict company results based on analysts’ estimates, historical and technical data. Build a prediction engine based on machine learning models.
- Forecast combination, combining signals optimally by identifying and correcting various biases, using statistical and machine learning techniques
- Predict the distribution of possible uncross prices at the end of closing auctions, primarily using data from the auction orderbook
- Explore new forms of media, learning how can we extract useful information from audio and video using the latest multimodal machine learning models
Stage 1: Online Quiz and Triage
You will be asked to complete one of two quant quizzes; either a general quantitative aptitude assessment, or an ML specific one, depending on your background. If you pass the online quiz, you’ll be invited to a triage interview where we we’ll take the opportunity to understand more about your technical skills and research background.
Stage 2: Meet the Mentors
At this stage, you will meet up to three potential mentors. They will discuss their project with you and probe on more in-depth technical questions in mathematics, programming, statistics, machine learning, and finance.
Stage 3: Meet Senior Leadership
Following the successful completion of the mentor technical interviews, you will meet one of the Deputy Heads of Research. They will assess your skills in relation to the specific internship project you might work on, as well as the mentor’s general area of research. Culture, team fit and possible intern-to-permanent hire conversion will also be assessed at this final stage.
If all goes well, we will then extend a formal internship offer.
