Virtual Quant Finance Algorithmic Challenge – Oxford v. Cambridge
*Please note, this event is now full*
Wednesday 13th October 2021
Quant Finance Algorithmic Challenge: 6:00 pm – 8:20 pm (BST)
Q&A and online networking: 8:20 pm – 10:00 pm (BST)
Last year we hosted our first ever cross-university remote event, pitting students from Oxford and Cambridge against each other in a Quant Finance challenge. After a tight contest, Cambridge emerged as our inaugural winners…but who will take home the crown this year?
Representing their universities, teams will be competing in a live algorithmic trading simulation that will give them insight into the world of quantitative finance. The event will be run by our Quantitative Researchers and Machine Learning Specialists, who will share their knowledge of the industry and how a mathematical skill set can be transferred into areas outside of academia.
Besides glory for your university, we’ll have a number of prizes available:
- Members of the winning team will each receive a £200 Amazon voucher
- G-Research will be donating £1,000 to charity. All attendees will get to vote to decide which charity will receive the money
- We’ll be donating £10,000 to the winning university’s hardship fund, which will help support students struggling financially due to the pandemic or other reasons
