PhD Prize in Maths and Data Science

What is the G-Research PhD Prize in Maths and Data Science?

Every year, G-Research runs a number of different PhD prizes in Maths and Data Science at universities in the UK, Europe and beyond.

Each prize is worth up to £10,000 and is open to final or penultimate year PhD students at specific universities, working across areas including (but not limited to):

  • Machine Learning
  • Quantitative Finance
  • Mathematics
  • Computer Science
  • Statistics
  • Physics
  • Engineering

Our PhD Prize Competitions

We take our PhD prize in Maths and Data Science to universities around the world, with up to £10,000 available for each individual competition.

Current prizes:

  • EPFL (deadline 28th March)
  • Imperial College (deadline 10th May)

Past prizes:

  • The University of Oxford (applications closed 15th March)
  • The University of Cambridge (applications closed 15th March)
  • Munich
  • Tubingen
  • École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL)
  • ETH Zurich: Analytics Club PhD Prize
  • University College London (UCL) Foundational AI Programme

How to Apply

Please note, there are currently no open PhD prizes. Check back here for details on upcoming PhD prizes.

If you’re studying at an eligible university, you can apply for the G-Research PhD prize in Maths and Data Science by sending a 10-page excerpt of your draft dissertation, along with a CV and covering letter to Charles.Martinez@gresearch.com.

Your cover letter

Your cover letter should summarise your PhD/research field, the way in which your research is novel and has an impact in its field, as well as a summary of any contributions to any papers (highlighting notable elements such as first or corresponding author).

Please note: Maximum entry of 10 pages. Please submit all entries in English.
