We play an active role in the open-source community. We take responsibility for maintaining projects, contributing to the continual development of essential software and supporting open-source foundations.
Our work focuses on data science and machine-learning tools, as well as the infrastructure and security to support them.
We work with the Apache Spark, Apache Arrow and related communities within data science, as well as open-source alternatives for improved GPU support for .Net Core. We also look for general improvements to F#, C# and .Net Core ecosystems, to help our engineers.
Within infrastructure, we focus on OpenStack and Kubernetes, two deep ecosystems where our support is widespread. We are core contributors to both projects directly, but we also contribute to many tools that influence the CNCF and OpenInfra landscape. These include tools and projects such as Cilium, Prometheus, and Thanos, to name just a few.
Our security work is far-reaching too. We maintain the Consul.NET project, built the Aeron-vault plugin, and have identified dozens of meaningful CVE’s across Linux, Windows and MacOS. These are just a few highlights of our security advocacy.
Our Open-Source Programme Office is bigger than usual. We refer to it as our mOSPO, because of its size and the engineering muscle we have added to the team.
The size and scale of our programme office allows us to make significant and impactful contributions to essential projects for the community. We’re proud to have OSPO developers merging PR’s directly on Kubernetes, chairing the technical committee for OpenStack while others are adding significant features as maintainers on Apache Ozone. This is only possible because of the scale of our team and the resources we dedicate towards open source.
Our OSPO helps drive profit, proving that private organisations can support the open-source ecosystem as well as their own bottom line.
