  • Quantitative Research

Each month, we provide up to £2,000 in grant money to early career researchers in quantitative disciplines.

Our aim is to support and assist PhD students and postdocs conducting research, particularly with costs that may be difficult to get funding for elsewhere, for example, travel for those who are caring for children, or expenses for volunteer work related to research.

July grant winners

Rebecca Crossley (University of Oxford)

“I am a Mathematical Biologist at The University of Oxford and build and work with models of cells migrating together into their surrounding tissues.

“The G-Research grant will enable me to attend a conference abroad, giving me the opportunity to present and collaborate on my work with other researchers in the field. It will also provide essential funding for the advanced equipment I need to perform my work more effectively during my PhD.”

“I find it irresistible how subtle patterns emerge from basic multiplication. In my research, I am interested in multiplicative structure broadly interpreted, including primitive sets, multiplicative functions, sieve methods, as well as the primes themselves.

“The G-Research grant will help support my travel to conferences in Canada (at the University of Montreal) and in the US (Dartmouth and IAS Princeton) to share my research, as well as here in the UK (the University of Bath and King’s College London). It will also fund other research trips and to meet with colleagues.”

Congratulations to our grant winners.
