In September 2020, we held a joint event with Hired.com, focusing on C++ . Featuring a talk by G-Research Software Engineer Stephan Dollberg, the event focused on Profile-Guided Optimization (PGO) and the assembly level transformations it results in.

While PGO has been around for quite a while and is available in all of the major C++ compilers it’s not yet widely used. Nevertheless, it provides great performance benefits without requiring a single code change.
