Academic community
Through scholarships, partners and funding, we’re supporting the next generation of STEM talent.
G-Research scholarships
We are fully funding 42 PhD students across eight of the UK’s leading universities.
This investment is designed to foster innovation among the world’s brightest minds, providing the financial support needed for postgraduates to push the boundaries within their chosen field of study.
Scholarships are administered by relevant departments within each selected university.

"Investing in the next generation of STEM talent is a natural fit for G-Research. The work these students do will shape our field, and we’re proud to help them take on big challenges."
G-Research scholarships
We’re proud to support some of the UK’s leading academic institutions through our flagship scholarships programme.
PhD prizes
Every year, G-Research runs a number of different PhD prizes in maths and data science at universities in the UK, Europe and beyond.
Each prize is worth up to £10,000 and is open to final or penultimate year PhD students at specific universities, working across areas including (but not limited to):
- Machine learning
- Quantitative finance
- Mathematics
- Computer science
- Statistics
- Physics
- Engineering

Monthly grants
Each month, we award a number of grants – worth up to £2,000 each – to early-career researchers (PhD students and PostDocs) working in STEM fields.
These grants are designed to cover aspects of research life that are often overlooked by traditional funding, such as travel costs, conference attendance and childcare. Since launching in 2021, we’ve supported over 100 early-career researchers in advancing their work.
If you’re looking for funding to support your research, get in touch!

Undergraduate prizes
Our annual undergraduate prizes celebrate and support exceptional students in mathematics, computer science and other related fields.
Open to undergraduates at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, the prize offers up to £1,000 to help students deepen their knowledge, explore new ideas and gain exclusive access to the G-Research community.
