The Low Latency Engineering Group at G-Research is responsible for providing and evolving our low-latency platform.

We are looking for a Data Centre Engineer to join our Colo Infrastructure team within Low Latency Engineering. You will help design and build high performance colocation environments globally.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing the hardware deployment lifecycle, from procurement to handover to customer and upgrades, break/fix and decom.
  • Coordinate logistical tasks across locations, including procurement, shipping, moving, and keeping inventory of equipment, cabling, and parts
  • Hands on install and basic configuration of servers and switches across multiple locations or assisting remotely with 3rd parties.
  • Working with commercial teams in purchasing and hardware support contracts.

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Troubleshooting network and server equipment from multiple manufacturers.

  • Knowledge of cabling fundamentals (Fibre/Copper)

  • Capacity planning involving power balancing.

  • Experience with a variety of network hardware (Cisco/Arista/Meinberg)

  • Experience with a variety of server hardware - HPE preferred.

  • Liaising with third party data centre, colocation and service providers

The final stage of our interview process is where you will meet members of your team, your future manager, and functional leadership.
