The role
The Financial Markets Operations (FMO) team at G-Research plays a crucial role in ensuring that the firm runs smoothly and efficiently. It’s responsible for providing services for client trade support, as well as middle and back office functions, including but not limited to Treasury Operations, P&L and Nav checks and Corporate Actions.
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior/Junior Analyst with a passion for operations and experience in independently delivering inefficiency improvement projects.
The ideal candidate will have exceptional problem-solving skills, a collaborative mentality and an ability to bring innovative ideas to life. As an FMO Analyst, you’ll gain exposure to teams across the firm as well as senior leaders.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
• Owning client support workflows across booking, affirmation and confirmation, reconciliation and lifecycle management
• Leading on corporate action analysis and processing
• Delivering new product and market implementation
• Supporting with the onboarding of new funds, brokers and vendors
• Driving increased capacity through a culture of continuous efficiency improvements
• Leading enhancement projects for technology and operational processes
• Collaborating with internal teams as well as client stakeholders Trade Affirmation (CTM & Traiana)
• Trade, Position, Cash, Swap Reset and Dividend Reconciliations
• Corporate Action analysis and processing
• Daily Flash PnL and NAV Reporting
Who are we looking for?
• Extensive Operations experience, ideally at a systematic equity firm
• Experience contributing to large scale cross functional operational projects, such as OMS/PMS upgrades, Affirmation Platform implementation (CTM/Traiana), and Reconciliation Platform on-boarding, as well as independently being able to perform root cause analysis and improve BAU workflows
• Experience working within an exception-based management operations function utilising dashboard alerts
• Good understanding of fund structures and asset classes, and the complexities they present to the operations teams supporting them
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
• The ability to take direction and execute with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with Geneva, Corporate Actions SaaS, CTM and Bloomberg
• Proficient with Microsoft applications, including Excel
• Familiarity with Python and reading and writing VBA macros in Excel
• Dashboard tooling experience, such as,, Tableau and PowerBI)
