This is a role based in our new Soho Place office – opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London.
The role
As our Payroll Coordinator, you’ll be an essential part of the People team, responsible for coordinating and delivering accurate and compliant payroll processing for our UK employees.
You’ll be the go-to person for payroll-related queries and a key contact between our internal teams and external payroll providers.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Coordinating end-to-end monthly UK payroll processing for all employees, including starters, leavers, changes, bonuses and statutory payments
Liaising with our external payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely submission of payroll data, as well as HMRC on employee queries
Reviewing and reconciling payroll reports, ensuring accuracy before final sign-off
Processing employee benefits and deductions, including pensions and cycle-to-work, and other salary sacrifice schemes
Responding to employee payroll queries with professionalism and confidentiality
Maintaining payroll records across our systems, including Workday
Collaborating with Finance on payroll journals, reports and reconciliation activities
Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations, RTI reporting and pension auto-enrolment obligations
Assisting with year-end processes, including P60s
Supporting audits and providing necessary documentation when required
Identifying and suggesting process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy
Who are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Proven experience in a UK payroll function, ideally in a fast-paced or tech environment
Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
Experience using Workday payroll software (preferred)
Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion
Comfortable working independently and as part of our wider People team
Experience using Excel, including vlookups and pivot tables, or payroll analytics tools for reporting and reconciliation
Experience with benefits administration and reporting (preferred)
