Do you want to tackle the biggest questions in finance with near infinite compute power at your fingertips?

G-Research is a leading quantitative research and technology firm, with offices in London and Dallas.

We are proud to employ some of the best people in their field and to nurture their talent in a dynamic, flexible and highly stimulating culture where world-beating ideas are cultivated and rewarded.

This is a hybrid role based in our new Dallas infrastructure hub where we work on the latest technologies in a cutting-edge environment.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced UX Designer to join our Infrastructure and Developer Experience team; a high-impact group focused on improving the internal tools and platforms that power research and engineering across G-Research.

In this role, you'll partner closely with engineers to deeply understand complex technical workflows, uncover pain points in developer journeys and design intuitive, elegant solutions that enhance the productivity of our technical teams. You’ll shape the user experience of our internal developer platforms, helping teams build faster, safer and with greater autonomy.

This is a unique opportunity to influence how research and engineering happens at scale.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading the design and evolution of internal developer platforms, ensuring they are cohesive, scalable and aligned with engineering workflows

  • Applying user-centred design principles to highly complex systems, supporting infrastructure and platform teams with intuitive, insight-driven UX solutions

  • Collaborating with product managers and engineers to define and shape the future of developer experience at G-Research

  • Owning the UX and UI vision for our internal developer portal, ensuring consistency, clarity and usability across tools and services

  • Delivering end-to-end design artefacts, including journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, asset libraries and high-fidelity prototypes

  • Facilitating collaborative design processes, including cross-team workshops, design reviews and embedding UX thinking in engineering rituals and platform roadmap

  • Championing a developer-first approach, gathering feedback, testing ideas and iterating to continuously improve usability and impact

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience crafting UX for complex B2B, developer-facing or technical products

  • Demonstrated ability to simplify dense data and abstract concepts into clean, navigable interfaces

  • Fluency in user-research methods

  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, developer workflows, HPC infrastructure or observability stacks

  • Experience with Material UI, Next.js and Backstage - or other developer portals - is beneficial

  • Experience integrating APIs and internal tools

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a user-centric and empathetic approach to problem solving

  • Experience leading projects and influencing cross-functional stakeholders

  • Passionate about improving the developer experience and building internal tools that engineers love to use

  • A strong desire to continually learn new technologies, approaches and systems

Why should you apply?

  • Market-leading compensation plus annual discretionary bonus

  • Lunch provided in the office (via GrubHub)

  • Informal dress code and excellent work/life balance

  • Excellent paid time off allowance of 25 days

  • Sick days, military leave, and family and medical leave

  • Generous 401(k) plan

  • 16-weeks’ fully paid parental leave

  • Medical and Prescription, Dental, and Vision insurance

  • Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance

  • Employee Assistance and Wellness programs

  • Generous relocation allowance and support

  • Great selection of office snacks, and hot and cold drinks

  • Free on-site gym and car parking
