The Head of Research and Trading Platform Architecture is a highly influential role that shapes the technical foundations of our clients’ trading capability and future growth.

Sitting at the intersection of cutting-edge research, high-performance systems and enterprise architecture, you will guide the long-term technology blueprint for quant workflows, partner with engineering and research leaders to accelerate innovation and ensure architectural consistency across the our technology landscape.

The role

Leading the Quantitative Research and Trading Architecture team

  • Providing strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for the architecture team supporting quantitative research, data engineering, model lifecycle and client trading platforms
  • Owning and evolving the end-to-end architectural blueprint for the quant domain, ensuring it enables low-latency execution, scalable research environments and robust production systems

Collaborating with engineering and quant teams

  • Partnering closely with Engineering Tech Leads, Quant Developers and Research Engineering teams to build and deliver aligned technology roadmaps
  • Ensuring short-term delivery remains consistent with longer-term architectural goals across research infrastructure, data platforms, model deployment and client trading systems

Driving innovation in research and trading tooling

  • Fostering a culture of technical innovation, experimentation and continuous improvement within the architecture team
  • Identifying and adopting emerging technologies across high-performance computing, cloud, data engineering, model lifecycle tooling and low-latency infrastructure that improve research velocity, model robustness and outcomes

Ensuring architectural cohesion across the firm

  • Working closely with architects across infrastructure, security, data and application domains to align on architectural patterns, platforms and standards
  • Designing for interoperability across research, trading, risk and operational systems, promoting a cohesive and extensible technology ecosystem

Shaping the firm’s broader technology agenda

  • Collaborating with the CTO, Chief Architect and wider Technology leadership group to influence and implement firmwide architectural strategy
  • Translating emerging business and quantitative needs into cross-cutting technical initiatives that enhance the firm’s long-term research capabilities

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a strategic, technical thinker with an exceptional understanding of quantitative workflows. You’ll have a passion for innovation, a commitment to driving measurable improvements and be comfortable navigating high-ambiguity, high-performance environments.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive architecture experience within quantitative finance, electronic trading, systematic investing or similarly complex, compute-intensive environments
  • Deep understanding of research and trading technology stacks, such as
    HPC clusters and GPU/accelerator environments
  • Data-engineering pipelines for large-scale market and alternative datasets
  • Quant development toolchains, research platforms and model-deployment workflows
  • Low-latency or real-time architecture experience
  • Proven ability to lead and develop architecture teams supporting front-office or quant functions
  • Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to effectively influence senior engineering, research and business leaders
  • Experience balancing long-term architectural vision with the day-to-day realities of fast-moving quant environments
