Technology Assurance Analyst

  • Business Management
  • London

We tackle the most complex problems in quantitative finance, by bringing scientific clarity to financial complexity.

From our London HQ, we unite world-class researchers and engineers in an environment that values deep exploration and methodical execution - because the best ideas take time to evolve.  Together we’re building a world-class platform to amplify our teams’ most powerful ideas.

The role

BICA is not a traditional assurance function — our mission is to deliver commercially focused assurance that enhances informed decision-making and enables strategic success. We look beyond regulatory compliance to assess how effectively our technology, delivery, and external partnerships create business value.

In this role, you will:

Project and Strategic Assurance (primary focus)

  • Provide project and delivery assurance across key technology and business initiatives, assessing whether delivery structures, governance, and decision-making support successful outcomes.
  • Evaluate strategic alignment, focusing on how Strategic Key Results (SKRs) are developed, measured, and cascaded through teams, ensuring that execution and measurement aligns with business intent.
  • Assess third-party risks, particularly where handover points, ownership, or dependencies create potential for misunderstanding or control gaps — including how APIs are designed, governed, and monitored to enable secure, effective integration between systems and partners.
  • Review and challenge Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance measures, ensuring they are commercially meaningful, measurable, and monitored effectively.

Technology and IT Risk Assurance (secondary focus)

  • Lead and support assurance reviews over complex technology applications, infrastructure, and platforms that support trading and business operations.
  • Support risk assessments and deep dives into key engineering and delivery processes (e.g. CI/CD, platform resilience, availability, access management).
  • Partner with engineers and the delivery organisation to understand systems and data flows — applying a commercial risk lens to identify practical improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to use data analytics and automation to test control effectiveness and detect emerging risks early.

Reporting and Influence

  • Identify and summarise key observations and insights for management, focusing on actionable improvements that drive better outcomes rather than process compliance.
  • Write clear, concise, and commercially relevant reports for firm leadership, including the C-suite and board.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of BICA’s assurance model, helping shape a function that’s adaptive, forward-looking, and focused on value creation.

Who are we looking for?

  • Excited by a broad, varied remit — equally comfortable examining detailed technical processes and evaluating high-level strategy.
  • A strategic thinker and fast learner, eager to understand new technologies, delivery models, and business dynamics.
  • Experienced in technology risk, assurance, or delivery oversight, ideally within complex or high-performance environments.
  • Technically curious — confident engaging with engineers, data scientists, and delivery leads to understand how things work and how they could work better.
  • Skilled at forming balanced, commercial judgments, especially in areas of ambiguity.
  • Familiar with Agile, DevOps, and modern delivery practices.
  • Knowledgeable about project governance, API-related risks, third-party management, and performance measurement frameworks.
  • Comfortable influencing through insight and credibility rather than authority.
  • Experienced in (or curious about) agentic AI, data visualisation and analytics
  • Academically strong (minimum 2.1 degree or equivalent), ideally in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline.

Why should you apply?

  • Highly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonus
  • Lunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar
  • 30 days’ annual leave
  • 9% company pension contributions
  • Informal dress code and excellent work/life balance
  • Comprehensive healthcare and life assurance
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Monthly company events
