This has been an extremely, extremely helpful week to really get a firsthand look at how G research works. Spring into point finance is an introduction to what the life of a quant injury research looks like. It's actually a series of lectures and workshops that are related to mathematics, statistics, programming, and machine Learning. Coming here, I didn't know that much about quant finance. I came from a very machine learning background, so I had some understanding of finance, but not much. But I feel that right now I have such a good understanding of what the company's doing, what the field is doing, and what they're moving towards. It's been an incredible combination of practical hands-on learning and, uh, networking with the folks at GE Research and learning about what it's like to work there. Meeting people from all around the world and learning about what their studies are like in different universities, what their backgrounds and lives are like. We were divided into three groups and each of us did a different activity. Um, I got to tour Monaco with a bunch of other people and that was really fun. I really enjoyed them having ride this morning, and I felt like we all had a good time. We had a lot of fun. We've had really nice dinners. Um, tried a variety of different cuisines, uh, particularly French and Italian, and the desserts were amazing. Uh, this week has been extremely useful in helping me figure out what to focus on next in my studies and what other elements of research I can really incorporate into my work. Smart people using maps and probability, they can come up with great ideas and it's very similar to what I like to do in research in academia. Yeah, The culture of GE research really seems to emphasize learning and the continuous curiosity in, in the work. That is a very fun academic environment to be in, and especially working with, uh, yeah, with coworkers and other people who are just as interested in these new developments and putting them to use. It seems like a great place to be. Everybody is just so passionate, interested about their work. The work life balance and the work culture seems, seems Amazing. I can definitely say that my expectations have been exceeded both in social component, but also on the learning side. I knew what quant finance was, uh, broadly speaking, but I didn't know many of the tools or like mathematics that were used in quant finance, and I learned a lot about that during this week. I've summarized the spring into Quant Finance Week as like a nice demonstration of the work hard, play, hard principle. It's definitely a great peak inside the company, but also quantified in general. So anyone who is interested in the field or do research in particular, I can really recommend this program.
