Our long-term goal at GE Research is to bring the best and brightest minds together to work on really challenging problems in the world of quant finance. Bringing all those folks together in a collaborative environment like this one, gives them a bit of a taste of what it's actually like to work at GE Research. I'm sve, I'm a quantitative researcher at GE Research, and I started in, uh, November, 2024. So I was a participant at the first, uh, spring into point finance, which was in 2022. Um, that was sort of at the, at the beginning of my PhD. I got intrigued by the company and, uh, towards the end of my PhD then decided to apply for an internship. And then pretty quickly after the internship I started my full-time position. I think it was very important for me to meet people who have, like me, a physics background. I previously maybe thought that, you know, to work at, at a quant firm, you need to have either an ML background or a stats background, but they were a bunch of physicists there, which was really like reassuring to me, right, to see that there are other people who have, have a similar background to me. But on the other hand, it was also a lot of fun to meet people who had like very different backgrounds before coming to spring into fund finance, I was a bit afraid or had a bit of the impression that working at G Research would be like, uh, uh, you would imagine like, say an investment banking corporate job where you do sort of long hours with more or less repetitive work. Really, the impression that I got into spring into Quant Finance is, is that it's not both in my academic background or in my, in my PhD and at Geer, sort of the, the type of problems that, that you tackle are very similar. We have a collaborative culture where academic by nature, most of our folks are coming from backgrounds that are exactly like the ones we're bringing together here at Spring into quant finance. So we wanna give people an opportunity to see what will my career at G Research look like? What is the culture that we espouse at G Research? And it just lets them see that we are an environment that allows for incredibly challenging work, really fun collaborative opportunities with like-minded peers. And we also like to take time together to enjoy social opportunities. So when we are looking to hire people onto our spring into quantum finance program, we're looking for those who have top grades, are attending the top institutions, and really anything that helps us differentiate them as world class talent. The early careers opportunities that we run are an opportunity to look under the hood. It's a space where you can ask the questions that don't often get asked and make an informed decision about whether this is the place for you. We really stress the opportunity for people to be on this continuous learning journey, and so the opportunity to come together with other students, share different perspectives, share different ideas, all in a common field of study, it's one of the things that makes Spring into quant finance so incredibly Special.
