Fact file

Position: Cyber Security First Response Intern

Team: Cyber Security Incident Response

Before G-Research: University of Kent student, studying Computer Science with Cyber Security

“During my internship, I worked on adversary simulation testing to assess internal detection capabilities, as well as building a validation process to help ensure security alerts remained reliable. Both projects contributed directly to strengthening our detection and response capabilities.”

“I was surprised by how much responsibility I was given from early on. I had the autonomy to lead mini-projects, contribute to ongoing investigations and shape the outcome of technical workstreams. Knowing that something I helped create is actively protecting systems and people has been incredibly rewarding.”

“My mentor and the wider team have been exceptionally supportive, encouraging questions, offering guidance and taking the time to explain processes. The experience has helped me grow in confidence and confirmed my interest in cyber defence, particularly detection, threat hunting and attacker simulation.”
