Fact file

Position: Software Engineering Intern

Team: Software engineering

Before G-Research: Studying Computer Science at ETH Zurich

“During my internship I developed a data visualisation app. I was responsible for the entire app, which gave me a lot of ownership and freedom in how I approached the project. It’s nice to work on something useful, rather than just an intern project. I’ve had feedback from people saying they’ll use the app regularly, which is great to hear.

“The experience has also changed my perspective on working in finance. Before starting my internship, I wasn’t sure whether it would be the right fit for me. I had some preconceptions about the culture, but G-Research was very different to what I expected. It’s full of incredibly smart, humble people.

“That’s reflected in how people work together. I learnt from different people every day, whether through team meetings, coffee chats or conversations with my mentor. There was always someone happy to help, and the regular feedback I received really helped me improve as an engineer.”
