Fact file

Position: Research Engineering Intern (6 months)

Team: Software engineering

Before G-Research: Studying for an integrated Master’s degree in Computing at Imperial College London

“During my internship, I’ve been building reporting solutions with a focus on improving performance and user experience. I’ve had more or less full ownership of my projects, from speaking to stakeholders and prioritising tasks to gathering feedback and maintaining what I’ve built after release.”

“It’s been really rewarding to see people using something I’ve essentially built from the ground up. The new reports are measurably faster than the previous solution, and getting positive feedback from people using them has been a great experience.”

“What’s stood out is how much ownership I’ve had without ever feeling like I was on my own. I’ve been treated as part of the team, with people always happy to answer questions, discuss ideas or help when I need it.”
